Crescent University Admission Requirements.

Credits at SSCE, GCE, NECO or approved equivalent in at least 5 subjects which must include English Language and Mathematics and any other three subjects as may be specified by each Department. Click here to View Departmental Requirements
The 5 credits should be obtained in not more than two sittings and must have been obtained within the last 5 years.
Candidates awaiting results may apply.
All applicants will be required to go through Crescent University’s screening exercise without which a candidate will not be offered admission into the University.
Interested candidates who have applied to the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for admission and wish to change their first choice to Crescent University are required to: Apply for change of institution through JAMB.
Obtain the CRESCENT UNIVERSITY, ABEOKUTA application form.
Participate in the screening exercise.
All applicants are required to obtain JAMB forms as well as Crescent University application Form  before they can qualify for the Screening exercise Admission through JAMB will be offered to candidates who have taken Crescent University as their choice and have acceptable score in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
In addition, such candidates will be required to obtain the University’s application Form and pass the oral interview that shall be conducted as a prerequisite for admission.

How to Apply for Crescent University Admission Screening Form [Crescent University Post UTME.]

Interested candidate are expected to obtain UTME form for that year and score minimum of 180 marks.
Obtain form from the university upon payment of seven thousand naira (=N=7,000.00) through bank draft addressed to Crescent University, Abeokuta.

The complete application form with 12 passport photo and 3 photocopies of original credentials should be returned to the admissions office of crescent university, Abeokuta.
The candidate will then be invited for screening exercise after payment of one thousand naira (=N=1,000.00) screening fee.
The candidates who succeed from the screening exercise will be offered admission, accept the offer, come for the verification of certificates and registration exercise when the school resume for 1st semester usually in September of every year.

UNIZIK Postgraduate Admission Requirements.

POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES
The following may apply for admission into the Postgraduate Diploma programmes:
  • Graduates from approved Universities who hold first degree classification with FCGPA of 1.50 and above on a 5point scale.
  • Candidates from approved Polytechnics or Monotechnics who hold a Higher National Diploma with a minimum of Upper Credit.
MASTERS DEGREE PROGRAMMES
The following may apply for admission into Masters Programmes:
  1. Graduates from approved Universities who hold the appropriate degree in the proposed field of study with minimum FCGPA of 3.00 on a 5 point scale or a minimum of 60% for Universities that do not use FCGPA.
  2. Holders of Postgraduate Diploma from recognized institutions with an FCGPA of 3.50 and above (on a 5 point scale).
DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY PROGRAMMES
Graduates from approved universities who hold Masters degree in the proposed field of study with minimum FCGPA of 3.50 on a 5 point scale or a minimum of 70% for universities that do not use the FCGPA
MINIMUM GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
Candidates for any Postgraduate programme must possess a minimum of 5 credits including English Language and any four relevant subjects at one or two sittings from WAEC, NECO, NABTEB or TCII(Faculty of Education only) based on the Departmental/Faculty and General University Requirements.

Duration of UNIZIK Postgraduate Programmes.

Postgraduate Diploma Programme (PGD)
Full-Time Postgraduate Diploma programme lasts for a minimum of two (2) semesters and a maximum of three (3) semesters. Part- Time programme shall last for a minimum of four (4) semesters and a maximum of Six (6) semesters
Note: For the Faculty of Engineering Professional PGD: Full-Time lasts for a minimum of 4 Semesters and a maximum of 6 semesters. Part-Time shall last for a minimum of 6 Semesters and a maximum of 8 semesters
Masters Degree Programmes
Full-Time Masters Degree programmes lasts for a minimum of three (3) semesters and a maximum of six (6) semesters. Part-time programme shall last for a minimum of four (4) semesters and a maximum of Eight (8) semesters.
Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Programme
Full-Time Ph.D. programmes lasts for a minimum of six (6) semesters and a maximum of ten (10) semesters. Part-Time programme shall last for a minimum of eight (8) semesters and a maximum of fourteen (14) semesters

UNIZIK Postgraduate Admission – Method of Application.

Application form should be completed on-line by logging onto portal.unizik.edu.ng/postgraduate
·         Click on “Create Account” to Create a new account,
·          Fill the form and click on “Submit”
·         An email will be sent to your box and a page indicating the successful creation of your profile will be displayed.  Click on “click here”. You will be directed to the log in page.
·         Enter your username and password and click on “sign in”.
·         Follow the instruction on the page following each step as indicated to access the application form.
·         Click on Step one on the menu bar on your left to generate and print the (Remita Retrieval Reference) Number for the ICT Fee (N1, 000).
·         Click on Step two on the menu bar on your left to generate and print the (Remita Retrieval Reference) Number for the Application Fee (N10, 000).
·         Take the RRR to any bank of your choice for payment of Application Fee and ICT Fee.
To confirm payment:
·         Click on step three. Type the RRR for the ICT Fee in the RRR textbox and click on “Confirm”. Again, type in the RRR for the Application fee in the RRR textbox and click on “Confirm”
·         Once the confirmation for the two payments is successful, you can proceed to step four to fill your application form
·         Click on step four. Fill and submit online the completed Application Form, scanning and attaching the claimed certificates, including O’level certificates.
NOTE:
  • Print the completed Application Form for your personal use. You will require this document in the course of the admission and registration.
  • Download and print a copy of the Transcript Request Form. The Transcript Request Form should be sent to your former Institution for your academic transcripts. Any change of name should be indicated in the transcript form.
  • Applicants should include the names, phone number and e-mail addresses of two Referees. At least one of the referees must be Academics not lower than the rank of Senior Lecturer.
  • PhD applicants in submitting their forms, shall upload a proposal of not more than five type-written pages that should include:
    1. Topic (not more than 18 words)
    2. Brief background of the Study
    3. Aim and Objectives/Purpose
    4. Methodology
    5. Expected Outcomes
    6. References               .
Sale of Form Ends on 4th August, 2017.
Submission of Form Ends on 11th August, 2017.
Transcripts should be forwarded to the Secretary, School of Postgraduate Studies not later than 25th August, 2017.
Qualified Applicants will be invited for Screening Test and Proposal Defence (PhD only) from 28th August, 2017.

UI Shut Down Following Students’ Protest

Report reaching us has it that the University of Ibadan UI has been shut down following the protest staged by the students of the institution earlier today.
At the moment students have been ordered to vacate the campus on or before 6:00pm today.
It was learnt that the students earlier today staged a protest over what they described as the insensitivity of the school management.
Some of the students complained about their inability to obtain the school identity cards which is a prerequisite for writing the forth coming examination that was suppose to commence this week.
Some others complained about the banning of electric cooking appliance commonly known as hot plate in the school hostels.
According to the University’s Director of Communications and Publication, Olatunji Oladejo, the closure became necessary in other to avert crisis.
He stated that the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Idowu Olayinka, had convened an emergency meeting of the university Senate to look at the circumstances surrounding the protest.
It was equally gathered that the semester examination which was to commence this week has been shifted to July 2017.
All undergraduate students are to resume back in school on July 17 while the post graduate students would continue to stay on campus for their research activities.

Statement of Purpose
A statement of purpose (not more that 500 word count) should be prepared and submitted online with the application. Two official recommendations are required for your application to be completed. These recommendations must be from persons in positions to appraise your potential for undergraduate study at Covenant University. These persons should include the following: Spiritual Leader, Principal or Any teacher from your school. Covenant University requires the use of the online recommendation system, which utilizes a secure system that will:
-Automatically email your recommendation providers with instructions for online submission of the recommendation.
-Allow applicants to track recommendations received or not received and follow up with recommenders who still need to submit their appraisals.
-Expedite the processing of the recommendations, which will be included in the online application once submitted.
-Automatically notify you when recommendations have been received.
Uploading of Credentials
The application would only be considered completed if you upload the following credentials:
-Birth Certificate
-Scanned 2017 JAMB result with your passport clearly visible on it
-WAEC or NECO Result (if available)

Non-Refundable Application Fee
The application form fee is non-refundable. The application form can be saved with a view of completion at a later date. An application cannot be submitted if the application fee is not paid at the end of the form. The application fee for the 2017/2018 academic year is N6,550 (Six Thousand Naira Only). Transaction charges apply: N600 (Six Hundred Naira Only) via over the counter transaction, while N900 (Nine Hundred Naira Only) via Card Payment. The fee can be paid by debit/credit card.

(c) In completing the on-line application form, candidates are required to upload a scanned passport photograph with white background showing ears, no cap and no glasses. The scanned passport photograph must be in JPEG (i.e. jpg) and must not be more than 20kb. On submission of the application form, candidates are to print out Referee Form and an acknowledgement page which will give them access to venue of Computer Proficiency Training/Test.
