Call Off Strike Or Face Confrontation, NANS Tells ASUU ..

Frustrated by over four months of strike that has kept their future in the balance leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students [NANSzone ‘B’ has given the members of the Academic Staff Union ofUniversities [ASUU] seven days to call off and return to the class room. The Union warned that at the expiration of the seven days ultimatum they would be left with no other option than to confront the striking lecturers. Speaking with journalists in Umuahia, the NANS zone B financial secretary and the leader in Abia state, Comrade Eluwah Miracle, said that the students are determined to take their destinies in their own hands by invoking the last “C” in NANS system of settling issues which is confrontation Eluwah accused the members of ASUU of being selfish in their demands from the federal government and politically motivated adding that student would no longer watch ASUU destroy education in the country and jeopardice the future of millions Nigerian youths. He said, “NANS Abia state chapter has condemned in strong terms the on-going nation-wide strike embarked upon by ASUU, which timing is not only wrong, but also detrimental to the security and of the country. Eluwah said that ASUU is claiming that their demands are genuine, “But their approach and timing is very wrong, because the world is nows eeing it as being politically motivated and if they say it is not, they should go back to the classroom, while negotiation continues with the federal government”. He maintained that the federal government has done well by offering ASUU the sum of N600 billion in addition to the N100 billion already made available this year for the funding of the universities, “which ASUU has rejected under the fragile nature of the country’s economy”. On the issue that the funds from federal government has not been released, Eluwah said, “ASUU is claiming that the funds have not been released, why should the money be released when they have not accepted the offer by the federal government and until they accept the money cannot be released simple”. He said that there are three Cs in the student Aluta struggle which include Consultation, Consideration and finally Confrontation, adding that they have made use of the first two Cs and will not hesitate to use the last one which is confrontation.

What is UNIUYO 2013/2014 Cut Off Point?

This question has been on the lips of every Uniuyo aspirants. i have said something like this before and this serves as a reminder and a continuation to the earlier post. UNIUYO DON’T ADMIT STUDENTS THROUGH CUTOFF POINTS. What I mean is that admission in University of Uyo does not depend on a stipulated score as it is done in many other universities, polytechnics or colleges of education. This is how Uniuvesity of Uyo admits its students: I will use department of Medicine and surgery as an example to explain this, once and for all Every department in the University of Uyo has a stipulated number of students that is needed for enrolment. For instance Medicine and Surgery department cannot admit more than 50 candidates. The stipulated number corresponds to the available facilities in the departmental level to carter for the students when they are admitted. This, though varied, also applies to every other department in the institution. So, Who will make the 50 Merit List? This is simple! The first 50 Candidates, who score high in after finding average between JAMB-UTME and Post UTME will make the list. Ok? This also applies to every other department. How will you know whether you have chance to be admitted? I wouldn’t have a very clear answer to this question, as the university don’t usually admit students through cut off points. But if you scored very high in both your JAMB-UTME and Post UTM Examination, there is every tendency that you will make the list without any qualms.

How to check Uniuyo 2013/2014 Admission List. That the Uniuyo 2013/2014 Admission List will not be out today or tomorrow does not necessarily mean it will be delayed till eternity. As I am talking to you right now, the list is being processed and will be released as I said, after all validations have been completed. So, for the time being I want to get you acquainted with the formalities involved in checking the Uniuyo 2013/2014 Admission List. I believe this will help you if not today, then later on. To Check/Confirm whether or not you've been admitted into The University of Uyo for the 2013/2014 academic session, candidates are to follow the Under-listed steps: 1. Go to the School. The List shall be pasted at the back of the CBN Auditorium, and that of Onyeama Ugochuku, Town Campus, Uniuyo. 2. There will be much crowd but you have to be vigilant. That doesn't mean you have to choke someone's eyes or yours. After all the lists shall be there for about one week, so why the rush ? And what shall it profit a candidate if after much struggling and wounding of himself/herself, his/her name is not on the list? And what shall he/she give as an excuse! 3. Ok, First of All locate where your faculty is, and go to that side (CBN or Onyeama). Just ask someone and you'll be well directed. Or get the Map from this site. Just locate your Department Under your Faculty and check from top to bottom. 3. On checking the Lists for your Department, you'll see Jamb. Reg. Nums, PUME PINs, sex, States of Origin , serial Numbers and Names, starting with surnames. Serial Numbers are very Important after admission. 5. See if your Jamb reg. Number is there, and make sure its your real Jamb reg. Number. Confirm that with your Name, sex and state of Origin. If they are all yours, it means you’ve gotten admission, else it means you've not been admitted. 6. Now, if you've gotten admission Praise God and start preparing for the real task , but if unfortunately your name is not there, just wait for the supplementary form, buy it and apply. All hope is not lost, you still have a chance. @@@Expect the Admission List Soon!!@@@ Next time, i'll be writing on the topic: "Post-Admission Modalities in Uniuyo: what every freshman/woman needs to Know". Yes! Else I forget, the 2013/2014 uniuyo admission list shall also be made available online later on (or even sooner), so that candidates may check their names at their convenience without bothering to come to the school.
My Candid Advice To All Uniuyo PUME & DE Candidates, 2013 .
For the time being, it appears the admission list for this year may not be in sight for many weeks to come. This is because apart from the negative scar ASUU strike has already created on the academic life of the nation (with Uniuyo inclusive), the school is working hard to fix the result of thousands of candidates with diverse problems after the post UTME and DE screening exercises. Such issues include Zero Aggregates, Missing scores, incomplete results etc. ASUU is still striking, and NASU just suspended theirs. These relaxed hands could have helped make the work easier and faster, but given the present academic climate, things have nose-dived for the worst in the system. As a Uniuyo PUME or DE candidate, i would advice you exercise a bit of patience and wait for the school, having an eye elsewhere if possible. As an adage goes, do not put all your eggs in one basket. Consider getting admission in other Universities or Polytechnics as well. Truth is, God-forbidding however, your name may not even be on that list after all, after wasting so much time and energy waiting. Its a win-win thing. Of course, not everyone will be admitted. Always remember, Admission is a Probability, you are not assured except by divine intervention, until you finally see your name enlisted. Forget about all these so called “Runz” going around, I just hope you don’t fall a victim. That you scored so high is not also a guarantee, don’t forget. A stitch in time, they say, saves nine. Don't loose hope on Uniuyo, keep praying for your dream school and do what is required of you. Candidates with Missing, Incomplete or Zero scores should follow the directives given on this site or place a call directly, and following the school’s directive your issue shall be addressed as soon as possible. I hope to see you here soon not as a candidate again, but as a student. Thank you as you heed to the voice of reason, and remain blessed.

EBONYI STATE UNIVERSITY (EBSU) TO PREVENT LECTURERS FROM STAGING A PROTESTTO DRAW ATTENTION TO THEIR ONGOING STRIKE

POLICENo fewer than 200 policemen stormed the campus of the Ebonyi State University (EBSU) yesterday to prevent lecturers from staging a protest to draw attention to their ongoing strike. The EBSU chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Nigerian Universities (ASUU) planned a peaceful protest on the streets of Abakaliki, the state capital, but policemen prevented them from going out of the campus. The police team that stopped the lecturers claimed to be acting on directives from Commissioner of Police Maigari Dikko. Lecturers have been on strike for almost four months, claiming government has failed to honour agreements it reached with ASUU on proper funding of education in the country. The policemen, who were armed with AK 47 rifles, tear gas and other anti -riot accessories, closed the gate leading to the College of Agricultural Science, (CAS) campus of the university from where the procession was to take off. They also denied other members of the public and students who had other reasons for coming to the school entrance into the campus. Policemen were also drafted to the other three campuses of the institution: the permanent site campus at Ezzamgbo and those at Ishieke and Presco. They claimed to have stopped the procession from going out of the campus to prevent hoodlums from hijacking the protest. The police were supported by other security agencies including State Security Service, (SSS) operatives. The EBSU-ASUU members however staged the protest within the campus. They carried placards with the inscriptions: “FG: Save University Education”, “FG: Do not kill University education”, “FG: Agreement is Agreement”, “Poor University education makes every sector fake”, “Nigeria: “Fight poor education”, “FG-ASUU Agreement! FG has reneged, Say no to Beggarcracy,”among others. They sang solidarity songs. The policemen did a stop-and-search at the gate of the campus and retrieved all the materials and flyers from both the academic and non-academics staff . Addressing the union members, the Divisional Police Officer in-charge of Ekumenyi Police Station, W.A Mustapha, as ASP, said the directive to stop the rally was given by the Commissioner of Police adding that the application made by the union for the rally was not approved by the commissioner. He said: “I was directed by the police commissioner to come here and ensure that you restrict your rally within the school premises. There are other citizens of this country going about their normal businesses and we won’t want a situation where their movement will be restricted.

RE: NEW FACE OF UNIUYO DIRECT ENTRY EXAM 2013   The University of Uyo Direct Entry Examination is coming up on October 11th, 2013 and time is not on anyone’s side. This update wouldn’t have come any later than now if  the desired effect is to be felt and as at when due.     Now, consultations with past uniuyo post utme candidates have it that the pattern of the questions just keep changing from year to year. In 2010, it only mathematics with a few other stuffs that was set as Uniuyo DE questions. In 2011, it was English language only that was set. When it came to 2012, English and general papers (i.e. current affairs) appeared, and that is the one I sold to you guys (that is if you bought them then).   Now, this is 2013 and the pattern has changed again. The concept this year is not different but only sharp guys will benefit. If you have registered for the Uniuyo DE exam, you’ll discover that four subjects will be set and not just English and general papers. The school is repeating an old concept used in the early days, but there is no cause for alarm.   I have the old Uniuyo DE past questions that will help you succeed at the forthcoming exam, without much stress. Just get these past questions and prepare yourself for the exam. Remember, over 60 per cent of the past questions I sold for the UNIUYO PUME candidates for the Post-UTME just concluded came out vebatim , while the pattern of some questions were altered (but still the same thing) and the candidates were very grateful. If you get them, and commence preparations early, I assure you, you’ll only come back to give testimonies.   These Uniuyo DE past questions cost only N1500 and may be purchased either at my office here in uyo, or any of the means under listed (wherever you are). Simply send me the four subjects you need, and your JAMB reg. number and I’ll deliver the materials to you via either: 1.    Facebook 2.    Email (any type of functional email account) 3.    Whatsapp chat app Just choose the method most convenient for you and you’ll get your package delivered within 20mins after payment. I’ve tried to build a credibility which I want to consolidate upon for many years.
